UCB PLC wins Joint Bronze Award at 24th ICAB National Award

[Dhaka, 11 September 2024] United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB) has won the “Joint Bronze Award” under the “Private Sector Banks” category in the 24th ICAB National Award for Best Presented Annual Reports 2023.
As a yearly event, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) organized this award ceremony at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel, Dhaka.
Syed Faridul Islam, Acting Managing Director and CEO and Faruk Ahammad FCA, Deputy Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of the bank, received the award from Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed, adviser to the interim government on the Ministries of Finance and Commerce, who was the Chief Guest of the event.
Dr. Md. Khairuzzaman Mozumdar, Secretary, Finance Division, Ministry of Finance; Md. Selim Uddin, Secretary, Ministry of Commerce; and Md. Abdur Rahman Khan FCMA, Secretary, Internal Resource Division, Ministry of Finance & Chairman, National Board of Revenue (NBR), were also present at the event as special guests. Forkan Uddin FCA, President, ICAB; vice-presidents of ICAB; past presidents; and senior officials of different winning entities were present at the event.
Good governance, sustainable financial growth, innovation and customer-centric approach contributed to the bank’s current success. These have been the driving factors behind such honour.
